The VanGuard 2 is a minimalist IWB holster. Unlike traditional IWB holsters, the VG2 covers only the trigger guard of your weapon. This unique design eliminates the bulk of a traditional holster, while providing a level of safety and security not attainable by simply sticking a pistol in the waistband of your pants.
This item is the lanyard kit only. Each VG2 holster shell will come with a 24" length of braided nylon cord. This kit functions just like the Original VanGuard. We are also offering three-packs at a discount. This is a great option to keep a VG2 everywhere you might need one. You can always upgrade a VG2 shell into the full IWB holster kit by ordering a VG2 Strut Kitshould you want to in the future.
The VanGuard 2 can be used multiple ways:
First, it can be used (without the lanyard or the strut and soft-loop assembly) as a trigger guard cover for storage and transportation safety. This prevents foreign objects from finding their way inside the trigger guard and potentially pressing the trigger, while still allowing the slide to be cycled and the magazine released. This gives users the ability to clear the weapon without the danger of a negligent discharge.
Next, it can be used with the static-line tether for on-body (IWB) or off-body carry (such as inside a bag, purse, briefcase, vehicle console, etc). This allows the weapon to be safely carried with a chambered round without fear of a negligent discharge, while still being rapidly deployable. The holster can also be removed by catching the nose of the holster and prying it off. This allows one-hand deployment of the weapon even if the tether or attachment point fails to remove the holster.
Finally, the user can attach the strut and soft-loop assembly to create a stable, secure, IWB holster. The complete system is fully adjustable for ride-height and cant, is tuckable for maximum concealment, and fully ambidextrous. Please be aware, we do not advise attempting to re-holster the weapon while the VG2 is inside your clothing. You should remove the VG2 and install it on the weapon outside of your waistband.

As a Chicago SWAT officer, this is the ONLY way I carry my concealed Glock 19 off duty. Also used this system during summer-time covert operations where a standard "pancake" holster would be obviously visible wearing T-shirts. With proper withdrawal training, this is the best kit to use.

I have tried most holsters in the last 12 years - this one is the best and I am looking no further.

It is, out of the box, quite small, and quite uncomfortable to carry. The new version has sharp corners that make appendix carry no fun. Some time with a dremel and sand paper made it much better. The tongue - or area that attaches to the lanyard - also has some edges. Knock those off too and you are ready to go.
Given what I paid for it, and the fact that - once adjusted - it works exceptionally well for its intended purpose, it is definitely a 4 stars. Had the edges been good out of the box, it's an easy 5.

It's amazing to see the amount of space it takes and the no extra added weight. I will encourage to have a good material belt for this holster. Other than that is amazing.

Bought this to use in my truck and when I take my gun backpacking. This is an excellent product. Snug fit and covers the trigger guard nicely. I will buy another for my other Glock's.

I really love these things. Having worn a belt holster for far too many years, this is the perfect solution for a minimalist carry. Comfortable and adds the level of safety I was looking for.
All of my Glocks now sport one for carry or storage in the house / car / etc. even works on my SIRT for training. :)

love the way it fits and doesnt get in the way. has a very firm feel yet simply pops off when you draw with hardly any resistance. the lanyard kind of set me back and doesnt inspire confidence at first due to how thin it is but so far so good.
